50 ordinary citizens gathered for the first Madison Nano Café and talked with Clark Miller about issues raised by the application of advances in nanotechnology.

Café attendees learned more about nanotechnology and raised concerns that will continue to be discussed at future cafes:

- nanotechnology & the environment
- nanotechnology & daily products (food, cosmetics, etc.)
- nanotechnology & societal impacts
- nanotechnology & computers industry
- nanotechnology & international regulation
