The Third Nano Café was held on January 22.
Dr. Maria Powell, researcher in the UW Madison Nanoscale Science & Engineering Center, presented the kinds of nanotechnology consumer products currently on the market and the societal, environmental, and ethical controversies related to the development of these products.
See the pictures & a slideshow of the event.
The South Madison Branch Library hosted the event, 2222 S. Park Street, in room 310.
Like the Second Nano Café, this was a short talk, followed by an informal discussion over dessert & coffee.
You can find some basic information about nanotechnology and food, cosmetics, and antibacterials on our NanoProducts pages.
This free event was sponsored by the Nanoscale Science & Engineering Center and the Citizens' Coalition on Nanotechnology.
