"The" NanoSafety Workshop for 2007

This workshop was designed to focus on health and safety practices featured a mix of nanotech experts and practitioners from select universities and government organizations.

Featured speakers included Dr. Andrew Maynard of the Woodrow Wilson Institute, Dr. Gurumurthy Ramachandran from the University of Minnesota, and Dr. Mark D. Hoover, from National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

They addressed questions such as:

- Are engineered nanomaterials handled or created on your campus? How do you know?
- What health and safety precautions do you have in place for working with nanoscale materials?
- What health and safety precautions do others have in place?
- How do you manage and dispose of nano-waste?
- What is the status of NIOSH’s nano initiative?
